Our kitchen resembles a country cottage kitchen at the moment which is no bad thing ! A shelf is groaning with jars of preserves made from foraged fruits from the country lanes of South Gloucestershire : Wild Damson Jam, Plum Jam, Apple, Cider & Sage Jelly and Elderberry & Plum Jam. Just along a bit there are two Kilner jars of Sloe Gin and a larger Kilner jar of Damson Vodka. On the other side of the room is a demijohn of (wild) Plum Wine, looking deliciously translucent and red. It will be ready to bottle in the 2nd or 3rd week in October – shame I have to wait so long for a sniff !! Now where did I hang that pheasant……
