Our little kitchen in Bishopston looks like a country store at present. The shelves are groaning under the weight of all manner of preserves, pickles, relishes and jellies and there is also a litre demijohn of Plum Wine bubbling away, ready to be bottled in October. Then it is a 6-month wait at least for drinking …..did I mention the big bowl of sloes in the fridge and the pound and a half of wild blackberries in the freezer ?
